an edge or border

And hell yeah, it is a truth statement on the edge!! It has a flawless Gameplay (Action!), incredible

Soundtrack and a decent Story. What is Axiom Verge? A true Metroid”vania” Game at its best!

1)Gameplay 08/10

If you know Metroid, it is just as Metroid with another point of view.

There are a few Jumping scene that gets you in rage, the fights with normal Enemies are fast

paced and good, the boss fights are well how do I explain it, nearly every Boss I gets with an

exploit down. The Items you gets are well done, you have a coat that can teleport the

protagonist, a grapping hook, Jumping skill and a drone! The last one is a cool shit! Gameplay is

what I called the best of an 16bit ära Plattformer combined!

2)Atmosphere 07/10

It’s a platformer with the graphic of the 16bit era, and it does the job, maybe there are a few

parts where you must concentrate to see the protagonist, and these fore it gets just 7 out of 10,

but the rusikala are tremendous visually! And the Boss fights are great.

3)Sound 10/10

Great Samples, and well done. Nearly perfect to the Themes of the game. My Favourite

Inexorable! But also the sound effects when you blast your disruptors on a shell that can ́t break,

or when you destroy a boss.

4)Story 08/10

What is real and what is a dream? Or maybe everything is just a Game? These and many other

questions remaining after you see the credits. There are a few dialogues, cut scenes and notes

that tells you the story of the planet Sudra.

Well you must play, it is very enjoyable and in the end very memorable!

5)Content 08/10

Sudra is huge, it has 9 Maps, and just one fast travel experience. Short Cuts here and there, but

you must go a lot. Backtracking is a huge bonus, but also the greatest malus. A few times I didn’t

now where should I get next? And when I get in the nex chamber its just another Weapon that I

found (Yeah there are 40 weapons! All unique!) But you must get further to get a incredible

Experience.

Summary 08/10

Final Verdict:

Thomas Happ did the whole Game alone, everything you see, hear and feel its all done by one

person. Yeah its just an Autor of a book  Chapeu!!

He put a lot of time in his project, and well he create a 16bit Metroid (it has nothing with

Castlevania^^)with another point of view at its finest art. Is it better than a Metroid game on NES or

SNES, no! Its different, it has its own charme, pace, art.

Buy it when you likes 2d Games with a lot of Content and Metroidvania like Mechanics! I prefer it,

and for a one man show the game is outstanding!

With the Handheld it was good, but with a controller in your hand you can master the Jumping

Scenes better. Before the Credits come it has a Bug and the game exits!
